Renault's Fernando Alonso [Images] stormed to his second straight win at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday while McLaren's championship leader Lewis Hamilton [Images] went from first to last and failed to score.

Hamilton finished 12th after starting on pole, with Ferrari [Images] rival Felipe Massa [Images] taking eighth place to close the gap on the Briton to six points with two races left.

The title rivals both received drive-through penalties, Hamilton for cutting across Kimi Raikkonen's [Images] Ferrari in a mad dash to the first corner and Massa after forcing Hamilton to spin on lap two, leaving him in 18th.

Poland's Robert Kubica [Images] was second in the race for BMW-Sauber, with Raikkonen third.
