Prakash Amritraj crashed out of the US $50,000 ATP Challenger series event in Champaign, USA, after losing his second round match to Carsten Ball.

Amritraj put up a good fight but could not stop the Australian from scoring a 7-5, 6-3 victory in the hardcourt event.

With his defeat, Indian challenge in the singles event ended.

Somdev Devvarman had failed to enter the main draw earlier.

In the doubles event, Somdev and his South African partner Izak Van Der Merwe will play their quarter-final match against fourth seeded Serbian-Russian pair of Llia Bozoljac and Chris Haggard.
