I've had some wonderful experiences on the ATP Tour
Hi, my name is Rohan Bopanna and I'm a professional tennis player, playing on the ATP Tour. I am 28-years-old, born in Bangalore but brought up and lived most of my life in a beautiful place called Coorg, which is a four-hour drive from Bangalore and a hill station known for its coffee plantations.
I travel about 25-28 weeks a year, playing tournaments all over the world, and I know it definitely sounds exciting. No doubt it is, but there is a lot of hard work which has gone into it. I'm still working hard, practicing and working out 2-3 hrs a day during tournaments, to maintain playing at a high level.

I got into tennis because of my father's interest in the sport, and since he never got the opportunity, he thought he would get me into it. I was the one in the family who always loved sport and showed signs early of loving tennis; that's how I started playing in Coorg.
Travelling on the ATP Tour I have had some wonderful experiences, meeting so many players from all over the world; having friends all over the world is definitely something I can cherish a lot. The wonderful cuisine is a special treat! I'm a real food lover, so I make it a point to try the local food in every country.

Actually, most of the players love food, although we have to be careful what we eat. No matter where I go, I have to have some Indian food. So that's another thing I search for on the Net when I get into a new country. Nothing is as good as home though!
I am looking forward to let you know more about what my life is like on the ATP Tour. It's mostly about all the hard work and practice. I'm sure you will understand it better when you read my blogs, as I will be blogging about all my experiences each week from wherever I am around the world. I hope you enjoy reading.
