Digvijay Singh finishes tied 37th March 23, 2008 17:47 IST Digvijay Singh's steady four-under 68 earned him the best finish among Indians as he signed off tied 37th, while Gaganjeet Bhullar and Rahil Gangjee turned in identical final-round cards of 69 to rise to 44th spot in the Asian Tour International in Chonburi (Thailand) on Sunday. While Digvijay totalled seven-under 281, Bhullar and Gangjee were a stroke behind. The fourth Indian in the fray, Gaurav Ghei (72) finished tied 57th with a total of four-under 284. Chinese Taipei star Lin Wen-tang battled through inclement weather to lift the inaugural title after carding a blistering eight-under 64 in the final round at the Pattana Golf and Sports Resort. He produced a four-day winning total of 23-under 265 for a commanding five-stroke triumph over Korean teenager Noh Seung-yul who hit a 71. Digvijay, a 10th tee starter, was off the blocks with a birdie before picking up another stroke on the 13th. An 18th hole birdie completed a flawless first nine leaving him three-under at the turn. His second nine was also going smoothly with birdies on the second and sixth hole but a dropped shot on the par-four ninth spoilt an otherwise fine show. Bhullar, on the other hand, had a topsy-turvy day. Another 10th tee starter, Bhullar stumbled to a bogey on his opening hole before reeling off back-to-back birdies. However, a dropped shot on the 16th brought him back to par but he once again went under-par with a birdie on 17th. The front nine was no less eventful for him and Bhullar notched up a couple of birdies against an equal number of bogeys to complete a roller-coaster day. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
