Sania Mirza [Images] and American partner Bethanie Mattek [Images] sailed past Poland's Klaudia Jans and Gabriela Navratilova of Czech Republic in straight sets to advance to the second round of the USD 2,100,000 Pacific Life Open.
The seventh seeded Indo-American duo won 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of the Tier I hardcourt event at Indian Wells, California, on Wednesday night.
Sania has been seeded 21 received a bye into the second round.
She next faces Ukranian Olga Savchuk, who rallied to beat Russian Yaroslava Shvedova 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) in her first round match.
