Amritraj cruises, Bopanna ousted January 10, 2008 15:56 IST It was mixed day for the Indian Davis Cuppers in Melbourne, as Prakash Amritraj advanced to the final round of qualifying while Rohan Bopanna suffered a second round defeat to USA's Sam Warburg at the Australian Open. Amritraj eased to a 6-3, 6-2 victory over his 15-year-old Australian opponent Bernard Tomic while Bopanna squandered a two set points in the second set to go down 3-6, 6-7 (9) to Warburg on Thursday. The US-based Amritraj will play against seventh seed Denis Gremelmayr of Germany [Images] for a place in the main draw of the year's first Grand Slam. Gremelmayr survived a close contest against Austria's Martin Fischer, coming through 6-4, 6-7 (5), 9-7. Roger Federer [Images] and Justine Henin [Images] have been named as top seeds for Australian Open.
