Abhinav has made India proud: Randhir Singh

Indian Olympic Association secretary-general Randhir Singh was ecstatic after Abhinav Bindra won India its first-ever individual gold medal at the Olympics [Images] in Beijing [Images] on Monday.

Speaking to rediff.com over phone, he said, "Abhinav has made India proud. We are all excited; look at him, he is so relaxed."

"After winning the gold medal Abhinav was just cool and calm," he added.

Randhir, a former shooter who was present at the shooting range, said the entire Indian contingent is thrilled by the victory.

"Bada cool ladka hai [he's a very cool lad]. He has done a great job for our country. Abhinav is here surrounded by friends and fans but he is just cool."
