Khade finishes 48th in 200m freestyle

August 10, 2008 18:32 IST

Virdhawal Khade's [Images] campaign in the 200 metres freestyle sunk without a trace at the Water Cube.

The Kolhapur boy clocked 1:51.86 seconds and finished seventh in the eight-man Heat 4 and overall 48th on the chart.

The timing was way below his personal best of one minutes 50.35seconds, which came in the second FINA World Youth Swimming Championships last month.

He finished 6.06 seconds behind Switzerland's [Images] Dominik Michtry, who clocked 1:45.80 to top the table.

Khade still has two more events the 50 metres and 100 metres freestyle left at the Games.
