Ronjon misses gold by a whisker

Double trap shooter Ronjon Sodhi won the individual silver medal and helped Indian team bag the bronze at the Asian Clay Championship at Manila, Phillipines on Sunday.

Sodhi missed the gold by a whisker as he lost the to Hu Binyuan of China in tie-shoot after the two shot an identical total of 187.

The Indian marksman fired 141 (45, 49, 47) in the qualifying round which was four points below Binyuan's tally of 145 but Sodhi made up for the loss in the final round where he shot 46.

Rashid Al Athba of Qatar won the individual bronze medal with the score of 185 (139+46).

Other Indians in the fray, Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore failed to reach the final as he finished 9th with the score of 134 (44,47,43) and Vikram Chopra ended up 13th with a score of 126 (37,41,47).

India's team bronze came for an effort of 400/450.

China won the gold medal with the score of 419 while Kuwait claimed silver with 404 points.
