Three of the five Indian players in contention made it to the quarter-finals in US $10,000 ITF grasscourt tournament in Lahore [Images] on Wednesday.

Seventh seed Vivek Shokeen defeated Taipei's Huai-En Chang 6-3, 6-4 while third seed Sunil Kumar Sipaeya easily beat Nai-Zheng Yu of China 6-4, 6-1.

Also advancing to the last eight stage was fourth seed Divij Sharan, whose Iranian opponent Mohammed Mohazebnia retired after conceding the first set 6-4.

However, it was a disappointing day for Ashwin Vijayragavan and Yannick Nelord.

While Ashwin lost to eighth seed Hsin-Han Lee of Taipei 1-6, 2-6, Yannick lost his second round match to second seed Bogdan-Victor Lenote of Romania 3-6, 3-6.

Shokeen now will now face off with top seed Adam Vejmelka of the Czech Republic and Sipaeya will take on local hope Aqeel Khan. Divij will lock horns with Hsien-Yin Peng of Taipei.

In the doubles event, the Indo-Pak pair of Aqeel and Sunil reached the final after getting the better of the second seeded Indian pair of Divij and Ashutosh Singh 7-5, 6-3.

They will clash with Harshana Godamanna of Sri Lanka [Images] and Bart Govaerts of Belgium, who beat Kamil Filali of Morocco and Pakistan's Jalil Khan 6-4, 6-2.
