National Football League champions Dempo Sports Club have threatened to boycott their Super Cup encounter against Federation Cup winners Mohun Bagan, saying the weather and ground conditions at Gurgaon are not conducive.

The match is scheduled for May 27, but Dempo coach Armando Colaco has written to All India Football Federation secretary Alberto Colaco that the stifling heat at Gurgaon and poor ground conditions are not suitable to hold an important match like the Super Cup.

The conditions "desist us from playing at Gurgaon in Haryana", Colaco said.

"Earlier, practically all coaches during the last Santosh Trophy condemned the surface and playing condition there," he pointed out.

In the past, the Super Cup was played in the state of the NFL champions.

"It is obligatory on the AIFF's part to hold the Super Cup in Goa," Armando added.
