Sporting Clube finish with big win

Jeremiah Ernest scored a fine brace as Sporting Clube de Goa thrashed bottom-placed Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club, Bangalore, 4-0 in their concluding round ONGC National Football League match at Duler ground in North Goa on Friday.

The goal scorers for Sporting, who led 2-0 at half-time, were Jeremiah Ernest (2), and Dudu Omagbhemi and Mauricio Pixoto one each.

Sporting Clube increased their tally to 25 points -- six wins, seven draws and five defeats -- from 18 outings.

HAL, relegated to second division, finished at the bottom with 10 points.
