JCT shock Mahindra United

May 02, 2007 18:59 IST

Defending champions Mahindra United suffered a severe jolt in their quest to retain the National Football League crown when they were shocked by JCT Mills 1-0 in Ludhiana on Wednesday.

Chidi Edeh scored the all-important goal in the 70th minute and took JCT to fourth on the league table, behind Churchill brothers, who whipped cellar team Mohammedan Sporting 4-1 in another match in Kolkata.

Four goals by the tournament's top scorer Odafe Okolie was the highlight of the Goa team's big victory.

Okolie's goals came in the 31st, 46th, 63rd and 76th minutes and swelled his tally to 15

Mohammad Rizwan reduced the margin for Mohammedan Sporting in the 69th minute.
