Armaan Ebrahim capped a memorable weekend by winning the Formula Renault V6 Grand Race at the F1 Sepang circuit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday.

Starting from pole position, courtesy of a splendid win in the sprint race on Saturday, Armaan led the rivals from start to finish rounding off a perfect weekend for Team Tara DTM.

The 18-year-old from Chennai opened up a four-second lead by lap three and he had extended it to 15 seconds by lap 10. His final margin of victory over second placed James Winslow was a whopping 31 seconds.

Armaan's times throughout the 20-lap race over the 5.6 km long circuit was a treat to watch.

The JK Tyre-sponsored driver was continuously in the 2 min 01 sec lap times for the entire 20 laps, something most crucial for a quality driver.

"I was really happy with the Grand Final race as I was determined to drive all the 20 laps as hard as possible. It is easy to lose concentration when you have a big lead and I just decided to hammer the throttle down for all the 20 laps," Armaan said from Malaysia.

"I would then like to thank my entire team for bending their backs for me... I had a reliable and perfect car for the race," the teenager said.

"Pady (Patrick Roberts) was fantastic as usual and Fabien, my team manager was the perfect balance in ensuring that everything was in order and also keeping my dad's blood pressure at bay."

Armaan also thanked his sponsors, JK Tyres, Amaron, BPCL [Get Quote] Speed, ELF and Anand Cine, and team Chairman, Helmi Abdullah.
