Rain halts Sania's doubles tie

Sania Mirza [Images] and her Israeli partner Shahar Peer's second round women's doubles match at Wimbledon was suspended due to rain at the All England [Images] Club in London [Images] on Monday.

Mirza and Peer was leading over Agnes Szavay of Hungary and Vladimira Uhlirova of Czech Republic 6-4, 4-3 (40-40) when rain forced interruption late on Monday.

The 16th seeded Indo-Israeli is expected to resume the play after 11 am local time today on Court no. 9.

They defeated Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden and Lilia Osterloh of the US 7-5, 6-3 in their first round match on Saturday.
