Wimbledon will pay women and men equal prize money for the first time at this year's grasscourt Grand Slam, All England Club chairman Tim Phillips said on Thursday.
The tournament joins the Australian and US Opens in paying equal prize money across the board in all events.
Phillips told a media conference at Wimbledon: "In summary, we take the view that this is good for tennis, good for the women players and good for Wimbledon."
