Top seed Gao Ning of Singapore proved his class to score a convincing 4-1 victory over home favourite Achanta Sharath Kamal and claim the men's singles title at the Indian Open Table Tennis Championship in New Delhi on Sunday.

World No. 31 Ning did not have much trouble to post a 11-5, 11-3, 10-12, 11-6, 11-6 win against the star Indian paddler at the Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium in the USD 25,000 prize money event.

Sharath Kamal, seeded fifth, would however be satisfied with his performance as he became the first Indian to play in the finals of an ITTF Pro Tour event.

The fine show would also earn Sharath a place in the top 100 of the ITTF ranking.

Singapore stamped their supremacy and swept all the four honours at stake.

In the women's singles final, Sun Bei Bei had a comfortable victory against ace Indian Poloumi Ghatak 11-8, 11-2, 11-8, 11-3. Ghatak was lucky to enter the finals after securing a walkover from second seed Yu Meng Yu, who withdrew due to sickness, in the semi-final.

Meng, however, took to the courts in the evening to combine with Sun Bei Bei and claim the women's doubles' title defeating India's Madhurika Paatkar and Vijay Vishakha 6-11, 11-6, 11-1, 11-7, 13-11.

In men's doubles final, Ning and Yang Zi got the better of compatriots Cai Xiao Li and Ma Liang 11-9, 11-9, 11-5, 9-11, 7-11, 11-5 in a tough contest.
