Pankaj Advani wins National snooker

Pankaj Advani emerged winner of the senior snooker title at the National Billiards and Snooker Championship in Hyderabad, defeating Aditya Mehta 6-1 (54-42, 107-0, 58-23, 84-1, 82-22, 49-65, 62-60) in the final on Monday.

The victory gave the 22-year-old World billiards champion a grand double, as he had beaten Ashok Shandilya of Railways 1325-853 in the billiards final earlier.

Manan Chandra beat Sourav Kothari 4-0 (64-15, 68-15, 54-41, 62-58) to take third place.

In the junior snooker final, Shravan Mohta of Maharashtra thrashed Manish Jain 4-2 (28-78, 67-31, 54-31, 39-74, 61-45, 58-33).

Shoaib Khan beat Aneesh Soni 4-2 (43-32, 46-41, 70-56, 34-71, 46-61, 63-41) to finish third.
