The Indo-Czech pair defeated the unseeded Ljubicic-Gonzalez 6-4, 6-2 in the hard court tournament.

Meanwhile, fourth seeds Leander Paes [Images] and his Czech partner Martin Damm got a bye in the opening round of the event.

Paes and Damm are up against winners of the match between French duo of Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra and Canadian wildcards Frank Dancevic [Images] and Frederic Niemeyer.

If they win, the US Open champions would run into Bhupathi and Vizner in the last eight stage.
