Leander Paes' impressive showing at the ATP Masters has seen him go up four places to eighth in the latest doubles rankings.

Meanwhile, the out-of-action Sania Mirza regained 46th position in the WTA singles list issued on Monday.

Paes and his Czech partner Martin Damm, seventh in the list, have had a memorable start to their season, winning the Rotterdam Open and ATP Indian Wells Open so far.

They were in fine form in the Sony Ericsson Open last week but failed to win the title, losing to second ranked American brothers Bob and Mike Bryan in the finals.

Paes and Damm are placed second behind the Bryan brothers in the ATP Doubles Race.

Paes's estranged partner Mahesh Bhupathi slipped one place to 22nd in the latest rankings.

On the other hand, Sania, who is out of action with a knee injury, reclaimed the 46th spot after slipping to 47th last week. Her doubles standing remains unchanged at 31 this week.

Among other Indians in the chart, the US-based Shikha Uberoi is up three spots to 237th, while veteran Rushmi Chakravarthi has gone down eight places to 402nd.

The ATP singles chart continues to be headed by Roger Federer while Belgian Justine Henin-Hardenne remains the world number one followed by Russian Maria Sharapova.
