Shikha loses in final qualifier October 31, 2006 19:19 IST Fed Cupper Shikha Uberoi failed to make it to the main draw of the $175,000 Bell Challenge in the Quebec City. The US-based Indian was handed a straight sets defeat by Germany's Greta Arn in the final singles qualifying round. Seeded eighth in the qualification round, Shikha was just a step away from making it to the main draw, but could not live up to expectations against Arn and lost 4-6, 3-6. In her first round qualifying match, she blanked American Kit Carson 6-0, 6-0 but had to toil in the second round to down Sabine Lisicki of Germany 2-6, 7-6(2), 7-6(6). Shikha partners sister Neha in the doubles. The duo are pitted against top seeded Russians Galina Voskoboeva and Anastassia Rodionova in the first round. UNI
