Uberoi sisters topple top seeds

Uberoi sisters Shikha and Neha scripted a major upset when they rallied to topple the top seeded Russian duo of Galina Voskoboeva and Anastassia Rodionova in the first round of the $175,000 Bell Challenge in the Quebec City.

The Uberoi siblings won 4-6, 7-6(6), 6-3 and set up a second round meeting with the American pair of Laura Granville and Carly Gullickson.

The US duo beat Angela Haynes (US) and Agnes Azavay (Hungary) 6-4, 6-2 in another first round match.

Earlier, the US-based Shikha failed to make it to the main draw, beaten in the final qualifying round by Germany's [Images] Greta Arn 4-6, 3-6.
