Thakur scores thrice for Indian Oil

Deepak Thakur slammed three goals as Indian Oil [Get Quote] decimated Air India 7-1 in a super league Pool I match of the All India Maharaja Ranjit Singh Hockey Tournament at the Shivaji Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.

Apart from Thakur, who scored in the 17th, 27th and 33rd minutes, Bharat Chingaria scored a brace (23rd, 35th minute) while Hamza Mujathaba (45th) and Inderjit Singh Chadha (69th) netted once each for the winners.

Davinder Kumar (20th) was the lone scorer for Air India.

In a Pool II match, powerhouse Indian Airlines came back from 1-2 down to post a 6-3 victory over Pakistan International Airlines.

Lazarus Barla converted two penalty-corners (45th, 56th minutes) while Dhanraj Pillay (5th), Brojen Singh (54th), Gurvinder Singh (55th) and Joga Singh (68th) sounded the board once each for the home team.

Ali Raza (24th, 64th) and Shafqat Ali (27th) were the goal-scorers for PIA.
