Paes-Damm lose to Bryans January 12, 2006 19:19 IST Indian ace Leander Paes and his Czech partner Martin Damm fought neck-and-neck with Bob and Mike Bryan, but the top seeded Americans proved too strong and chalked out a 6-4, 6-4 victory to sail into the semi-finals of the 419,000 dollar Sydney International on Thursday. The first set was evenly poised till 3-3, but the Bryan brothers raised their game at the right time to go ahead 5-4 and held their serve to win the set. The second set followed the same script and the pairs were level 3-3 again. Paes and Damm looked a bit jaded after the loss of the first set and once the brothers forged ahead they could do little to stop them. In the semi-finals, the Bryans will lock horns with Fabrice Santoro and Nenad Zimonjic, who thrashed the French pair of Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra 6-0, 6-4 in another quarter-final.UNI
