India's Sania Mirza [Images] went down fighting to number four seed Lourdes Dominguez of Spain in the quarterfinals of the Tier IV Forest Hills WTA tournament on Friday.

The Spaniard, ranked one place above Sania at 43, won 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 to set up a semi-final clash with America's Meghann Shaughnessy.

The match was interrupted due to rain on Thursday night with Dominguez leading 4-3.
