The opening day's play in the Fed Cup Asia-Oceania zonal qualifying tennis tie in Seoul, Korea, was washed out on Wednesday without a ball being hit due to rain.

India were to take on the Philippines in their first match in Pool 'B', with Shikha Uberoi scheduled to play the first singles and Sania Mirza [Images] the second.

Chinese Taipei and New Zealand [Images] are the other teams in Pool 'B', while hosts Korea, Australia and Uzbekistan form Pool 'A'

The best team from each pool plays the final, the winner of which qualifies for the World Group 2 play-off in July.
