England [Images] striker Michael Owen [Images] scored twice on his return from injury in Newcastle United's 3-0 romp over West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday.

Owen, who missed two games with a hamstring strain, met Charles N'Zogbia's cross with a fine volley a minute into the second half before adding a second with a close-range finish after good work from Kieron Dyer on 78 minutes.

Substitute Alan Shearer swept in a third two minutes later in a victory that lifted Newcastle up to 10th place in the Premier League. West Brom stay 17th.
