Owen scores twice in Newcastle romp October 31, 2005 10:28 IST England striker Michael Owen scored twice on his return from injury in Newcastle United's 3-0 romp over West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday. Owen, who missed two games with a hamstring strain, met Charles N'Zogbia's cross with a fine volley a minute into the second half before adding a second with a close-range finish after good work from Kieron Dyer on 78 minutes. Substitute Alan Shearer swept in a third two minutes later in a victory that lifted Newcastle up to 10th place in the Premier League. West Brom stay 17th. Champions Chelsea, who beat Blackburn Rovers 4-2 on Saturday, are clear at the top on 31 points. Wigan Athletic have 22 with Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton Wanderers on 20.
