Bulgarian Grandmaster Veselin Topalov played a leisurely 14th round game against Hungarian Grandmaster Judit Polgar and was first to draw the game in just 25 minutes to become the World chess champion.

With this title win, Topalov has gained almost 20 Elo points and crossed the 2800 mark.

India's Viswanathan Anand played a good game with black against Peter Svidler of Russia.

Realizing that there was no way he could win the game Svidler offered a draw, shook hand with Anand on the 19th move and conceded the 2nd position to him.

Peter Leko defeated Rustam Kasimdzhanov in a Sicilian Paulsen game to register his third victory of the championship.

In the fourth game of the championship, Alexander Morozevich and Michael Adams played a Ruy Lopez Anderson opening game and agreed for a draw after playing a long game of 54 moves.
