Suranjoy loses in quarter-finals November 18, 2005 17:40 IST Junior world champion M Suranjoy Singh disappointed and bowled out at the quarter-final stage of the light-fly division in the 13th Senior World Boxing Championships in Mianyang, China. Suranjoy was unable to match the speed and power of the nimble-footed Dostiev Sherali of Tajikistan and lost 16-21. Suranjoy, after defeating Volkov Vitaliy of Ukraine 22-19 in the previous round, was the lone Indian left in the fray. The other Indians, Akhil Kumar (bantamweight), Vijender (welterweight) and Som Bahadur Pun (light-welter), lost in the second round.
