Gary Neville and Roy Keane are still some way short of full fitness after injury problems, Manchester United [Images] manager Alex Ferguson said on Monday.

Both experienced players have been out of action since September and Ferguson is desperate to restore them to his side to boost their faltering Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

Midfielder Keane broke his foot in the Premier League match at Liverpool on September 18, while defender Neville underwent groin surgery seven weeks ago to clear up a niggling problem and had hoped to play in a friendly on Monday.

"Gary was due to play and pulled out because he is not feeling 100 percent but it is not a blow," Ferguson told Sky Sports.

"Roy's back in light training but his injury is hard to assess. He's on the way back, maybe two or three weeks I think," Ferguson added.

United strikers Louis Saha and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, defender Gabriel Heinze and utility player Quinton Fortune are also still on the injured list.

United are 10 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea and lie third in their Champions League group with two matches remaining.
