Top seeds Ritwik Bhattacharya and Joshna Chinappa justified their billing by lifting the men's and women's titles respectively of the 62nd CCI-Western India Squash championship in Mumbai on Saturday.

Bhattacharya subdued a fighting second seed Vikas Jangra of the Services Sports Control Board with a 9-4, 9-2, 5-9, 9-6 win. While Chennai-based Joshna denied city rival Deepika Pallikal a triple crown by defeating her younger opponent 9-5, 10-8, 9-1.

The men's and women's winners got richer by Rs 70,000 and Rs 22,000 while the respective losing finalists received Rs 35,000 and 10,000.

Deepika, shock victor over second seed Deepali Anvekar of Mumbai in yesterday's women's semis, had earlier completed a double by adding the girls under-19 title to the under-15 crown, that she won yesterday, at the expense of local rival Shivangi Paranjpe whom she beat in half an hour.

The results (all finals):

Men: Ritwik Bhattacharya (Del) bt Vikas Jangra (SSCB) 9-4, 9-2, 5-9, 9-6.

Women: Joshna Chinappa (TN) bt Deepika Pallikal (TN) 9-5, 10-8, 9-1.
