Amardip Malik wins Sri Lanka Open

Amardip Sinh Malik fired a final round two-under 69, to return a gallant win at the 113th edition of the prestigious Sri Lankan Open Amateur Championship, played at the par-71, Royal Colombo Golf Course from 16th to 19th March 2005. 

The winner tallied a four-day aggregate of three-under 181.

Three-time Sri Lankan Open Amateur champion Simarjeet Singh finished tied second with fellow-Indian Vikram Rana at one-under 183.

India stole the honours in the Team championships as well with the team of Jasjeet Singh and Chirag Kumar tallying a score of 282 to nudge ahead of hosts Sri Lanka [Images] for whom KA Chandradasa and Mithun Parera tallied 285. 

Jasjeet's two rounds yielded score of 74 and 71 while Chirag returned rounds of 69 and 68.
