Harsh Mankad and Ajay Ramaswami made amends for last week's disappointment as they lifted the doubles title in the US $15,000 ITF Futures men's tennis tournament in Delhi on Friday.

The top seeded Indian pair withstood an early onslaught from Israel's Dekel Valtzer and Ashutosh Singh before prevailing 6-4, 6-2 at the DLTA Complex.

The duo had finished runners-up last week in the Mumbai leg to compatriots Vishal Uppal and Mustafa Ghouse.

This time, however, they were richer by 945 dollars and 18 ATP points.

Sunil Kumar Sipaeya kept Indian hopes alive when he ended the winning streak of 18-year-old Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan to enter the singles final.

Istomin, who had defeated third seeded Harsh Mankad on the way, sank without a trace, losing 4-6, 1-6 in the semi-finals.

The sixth seed Sipaeya, who claimed his maiden crown at the same venue in 2002, will have a crack at his third title.

The Chandigarh lad is up against second seed Simon Greul, who knocked out Lester Cook of Great Britain, winning 6-3, 6-2 in the other semi-final.
