Western Railways drubbed Sports Authority of India West Zone 3-0 and made it to the semi-finals from Group B in the Tommy Emar Gold Cup women's hockey tournament at the Mahindra stadium in Mumbai on Monday.

The Railway eves, who led 2-0 at half-time, were the second team to make it to the last four stage along with Air India after the fourth team in their group Ranchi XI pulled out from the tournament at the last minute.

Railways' center-forward Nishi Chavhan put her team ahead in the seventh minute following skipper Poonam Surin's cross.

With just five minutes to go for lemon time, forward Pakpi Devi made it 2-0 with a field goal and in the 66th minute Devi herself rounded off the tally with a penalty-corner conversion.

In the second match of the day, star-studded Pamposh Orissa (Group-A) crushed Sports Authority of India (South) 7-0 after leading 3-0 at half-time.

Pravasini Bage scored a brace (third and 48th minute) while Bahamani Tirkey (9th minute), Basanti Lakra (12th), Sarita Hanuman [Images] (42nd), Pratima Tirkey (44th) and Muktaprava

Barla (53rd) scored a goal each for the winners.

On Tuesday, Central Railway will take on Delhi XI while Air India clash with Western Railway to decide the table toppers.
