February 06, 2005 16:46 IST

Top seeded Argentine Gaston Gaudio reached the final of the $380,000 Bell South Open on Saturday with a three-set win over Spain's David Ferrer.

The French Open winner overcame the fourth seed 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 in two hours and 15 minutes and will meet defending champion Fernando Gonzalez from Chile in Sunday's final.

The second seeded Gonzalez booked a spot in his second final of the year with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 victory over third seed Filippo Volandri of Italy in one hour and 49 minutes.

Gonzalez beat Brazil's Gustavo Kuerten in last year's final to secure his second title here in three years and with strong home support, he will be confident of securing a third.
