Jharkhand win sub-jr. girls' hockey

Defending champions Jharkhand won the 17th sub-junior girls' national hockey championship for the second consecutive year defeating Haryana 1-0 in the final in Kapurthala on Monday. In a thrilling encounter, the Jharkhand girls dominated the proceedings and scored the winner in the 15th minute through center-forward Anims 1-0. Afterwards it was ding dong battle till breather. After the break, Haryana girls played aggressively and earned nine penalty-corners but failed to convert any. Jharkhand too failed to scored for any of the four penalty-corners they forced.
