India retain Kabaddi gold

India made light weather of the Pakistani challenge to retain the Kabaddi gold medal in the ninth SAF Games in Islamabad on Monday.

With both the teams comfortably winning all their earlier round-robin matches today's final league encounter was a  virtual final which the Indians won 35-14 to retain the title.

Indian skipper Sanjeev Kumar was the hero of the day for the champions as he earned valuable points through his  brilliant raids top scoring with 16 points. Dinesh Kumar and Suresh won five and four points respectively.

Earlier, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka 30-11 to claim the bronze medal.
