India maintained their domination in the weightlifting arena adding two more gold medals to their tally in the ninth SAF Games in Islamabad on Friday.
Satheesha Rai won the gold in the 77 kg category with a total lift of 322.50 kg while Sudhir Kumar claimed the yellow metal in the 69kg category with a lift of 285 kg.
In the course of his victory, Rai improved upon two of his meet records - in clean and jerk and total lift - set in the 1999 Kathmandu Games.
The Indian bettered his clean and jerk record by 2.5 kg with a lift of 180 kg and then equalled his 142.5 kg mark in snatch.
His total lift of 322.5 kg was also higher than the 320 kg he managed in Kathmandu.
Mohammad Irfan of Pakistan (315 kg) and Gamage of Sri Lanka (250 kg) took the silver and bronze medals respectively.
On the other hand, Sudhir had to fight till the end against Pakistan's Shahbaz, with both the lifters managing a total of 285 kg. However, the Indian won on lesser body weight.
Sudhir was trailing the Pakistani by 2.5 kg after the snatch as he managed to lift only 125 kg but came back strongly in clean and jerk to lift 160 kg and tie the total weight.
Sri Lanka's Duncan claimed the bronze with a total of 245 kg.
