Paes, Rikl bow out

The Indian challenge in the ATP Masters ended when Leander Paes and his Czech partner David Rikl lost in the men's doubles quarter-finals on Thursday.

The seventh seeded Indo-Czech pair lost to third seeds Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Todd Woodbridge of Australia 7-5, 2-6, 3-6.

Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi had bowed out of the tournament after losing 6-7(3/7), 5-7 Arnaud Clement and Sebastian Grosjean of France in the second round.
