After being repeatedly postponed, the Afro-Asian Games are finally slated to begin on October 24, with Pakistan sending the first entry.

Critics, however, argue that a general lack of interest -- among the organisers, the participants, and the public -- and preparations for the Athens Olympics next year will ensure that the Games will flop.

Should the Games just be scrapped?
