October 30, 2003 20:19 IST

Top seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza, and Vishal Uppal and Rushmi Chakravarthy scored contrasting victories in the mixed-doubles tennis semi-finals, to set up another all-Indian final at the Afro Asian Games in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Bhupathi and Sania registered a fluent 6-2, 6-2 victory over Adelo Abadio and Czarina Arevalo of The Philippines while Uppal and Rushmi rallied strongly to quell a strong challenge from Johnny Arcilla and Patricia Santos, also of The Philippines, before scoring a 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4 victory.

However, second seeds Sonal Phadke and Megha Vakaria were shocked by third seeded Indonesian duo of Stefanie Rosa Maya and Septi Mende 7-5, 1-6, 7-5 in the women's doubles semi-final.

The Indonesian pair will take on Sania and Rushmi in the final tomorrow.
