Top Korean, Uzbek boxers for AAG

Top pugilists from South Korea and Uzbekistan will be seen in action at the inaugural Afro-Asian Games, in Hyderabad from October 24 to November 1.

According to an official statement from the organisers, five Busan Asian Games gold medallists and two bronze medallists of the Sydney Olympics from Uzbekistan have confirmed for the event.

A strong South Korean team of five boxers, including three gold medallists of the Busan Asiad, has also confirmed participation.

Gergey Mihayilov, 91kg Olympics bronze medallist, and Rustam Saidov will lead the Uzbek challenge.

In the light-weight categories, World cadet champion Bahodorjon Sooltonov and Busan gold medal winner Dilshad Mahmudov will be seen in action.

Korean bantam-weight champion Kim Won-Il will be the pugilist to watch.

Following is the confirmed list of pugilists:

Uzbekistan: 54kg: Sooltonov Bahodorjon; 57kg: Bekzod Khidirov; 60kg: Dilshod Mahmudov; 64kg: Bahit Sarskbaev; 75kg: Utkeribek Haydarov; 81kg: Ikrom Berdiev; 91kg: Sergey Mihayilov; 91kg: Rustam Saidov.

Korea: 51kg: Kim Ki-Suk; 54kg: Kim Won IL; 57kg: Seok Mivan; 60kg: Jong Su Bak; 69kg: Kim Jung Loo.
