American Ashley Harkleroad provided a major upset, getting the better of ninth seeded Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova 7-6(2), 4-6, 9-7.
"I love it here. I always play well here. I feel like at home also because I played juniors here a lot. There's just like so much electricity you feel on the court," said the American.
