March 02, 2003 18:42 IST

JCT, Phagwara, and Salgaocar, Goa, were engaged in a 1-1 draw in their seventh National Football league match, at the Guru Nanak stadium in Ludhiana on Sunday.

Both the goals were scored in the second-half.

Striker I M Vijayan, who was introduced in the second-half in place of Hardip Gill, put JCT ahead in the 43rd minute, converting a long pass from Tarnjit.

Sunday Seah scored the equaliser for Salgaocar in the 73rd minute following a flag-kick from Dharamjit Singh just outside the box.

Both teams made several excellent moves, but failed to convert the many chances that came their way.

Salgaocar had beaten JCT 1-0 when the teams met in the first-leg in Goa.

Salgaocar and JCT have 29 and 28 points respectively.

JCT face East Bengal next in Ludhiana on March 5.
