I have no fear about my
knees, says Ronaldo

Ronaldo says he is confident he has fully recovered from his knee injuries and will quickly be back to his best despite his delayed debut with Real Madrid.

"I have no doubt and no fear about my knees. When I'm on the pitch I don't think about a possible injury, I just concentrate on scoring goals," the Brazilian told the French sports daily L'Equipe on Saturday.

Signed from Inter Milan in a deal worth 45 million euros ($43.9 million) just before the transfer deadline, Ronaldo had to wait until this month to play his first game in the Spanish first division.

He made a dramatic debut, scoring 60 seconds after coming off the bench and adding a second in a 5-2 win over Alaves.

But his first appearance for Real Madrid in the Champions League provoked a few frustrated whistles from the crowd and ended in a 2-2 draw with AEK Athens last Tuesday.

"I'm just a soccer player and if somebody is in better form I'm ready to be on the bench. It happened to me in the past but I got over it," the World Cup-winning striker and leading scorer in the June finals told L'Equipe .

"Be sure I'm going to fight to be in the starting line-up all the time."
