8 Indian women in IAAF top 50

Eight women figure among ten Indian athletes named in the top 50 world athletes' list, released by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

Amateur Athletic Federation of India secretary Lalit Bhanot said he received a list of ten Indians, which include men shot putters Bahadur Singh and Shakti Singh, who are named in the top 50.

The women athletes are: Saraswati Saha [200 metres], K M Beenamol [400 metres], Bobby Aloysius [high jump], Anju Bobby George [long jump], Neelam Jaswant Singh and Harwant Kaur [discus throw], Soma Biswas and J J Shoba [heptathlon].
