Riders at the Tour de France were given surprise blood test before the start of the fourth stage Wednesday, but all received the all-clear by the International Cycling Union, race organizers said.
The UCI doctors chose to test 54 riders from the Alessio, FDJeux.com, Kelme, Rabobank, CSC-Tiscali and U.S. Postal teams, including American Lance Armstrong, who is chasing his fourth successive Tour victory.
The fourth stage of the Tour, a team time trial from Epernay to Chateau-Thierry, was due to start later Wednesday.
