World Cup preparatory camp begins tomorrow

The preparation for the Tenth Hockey World Cup has begun in earnest. The 26 probables of the senior Indian hockey team are assembling in Chennai for the preparatory camp scheduled to be held at the astro-turf stadium from January 5 to 25.

Chief coach Cedric D'Souza will be assisted by Chennai-based C R Kumar.

The World Cup will be held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from February 25 to March 9.

The mood in the Indian squad, comprising of juniors and seniors, is buoyant, following the recent triumphs at the Champions Challenge and at the Junior World Cup.
