Humpy draws, shares lead

World junior champion Koneru Humpy shared the lead with Goran Kosanovic and Misa Pap, both from Yugoslavia, at the end of the second round in the Third Saturday GMs chess tournament, being played in Belgrade, Yugoslavia.

All three players have 1.5 points each.

The Andhra Woman Grandmaster settled for a draw on Monday against Bulgaria's Milko Popchev after 13 moves.

Humpy needs seven more points from nine rounds to get her second men's Grandmaster's norm.

Five players Martinez Lopez of Spain, Milko Popchev of Bulgaria, Dejan Nestorovic, Mihajlo Stojanovic and Dragutin Sahovic, all from Yugoslavia, are in the second position with one point each.

The tournament is a Category-7 GM tournament, where average Elo rating of the tournament is 2415 with 11 rounds. Humpy should get 8.5 points to get her second gm norm.

Twelve players from four countries -- India, Spain, Bulgaria and Yugoslavia -- are participating.
